他失恋了,现在很难  / Tā shīliànle, xiànzài hěn nán   shòu / guò.  – He was crossed in love and is feeling sad now.

她难 / 得哭了起来。Tā nánshòu / guò dé kūle qǐlái.  – She is so sad that she’s crying.

小林离开家的时候很难 受/ 过。Xiǎolín líkāi jiā de shíhòu hěn nánshòu/ guò.  – Xiao Lin was sad when leaving home.

 

难受 Nánshòu  – somebody feels physically uncomfortable in his/ her body

因为晕车,他很难受。Yīnwèi yùnchē, tā hěn nánshòu.  – Because of carsickness, he feels uncomfortable.

NO: 因为晕车,他很难过。Yīnwèi yùnchē, tā hěn nánguò.

我浑身难受,可能感冒了。Wǒ húnshēn nánshòu, kěnéng gǎnmàole.  – I feel un comfortable all over; maybe I have a cold.

NO: 我浑身难过,可能感冒了。

药的味道让我很难受。Yào de wèidào ràng wǒ hěn nánshòu.  – The taste of the medicine makes me feel sick.

NO: 药的味道让我很难过

 

难过 Nánguò  – somebody lives under difficult conditions

他失业之后,日子很难过。Tā shīyè zhīhòu, rìzi hěn nánguò.  – He lost his job, which made it difficult for him to live.

一个人在国外的生活很难过。Yīgè rén zài guówài de shēnghuó hěn nánguò.  – It’s difficult for a person to live alone in a foreign country.

父亲去世后,她的日子更难过了。Fùqīn qùshì hòu, tā de rì zǐ gēng nánguòle.  – After her father passed away, it’s been more difficult for her to live.

小时候他家很穷,日子很难过。Xiǎoshíhòu tā jiā hěn qióng, rìzi hěn nánguò.  – His family was poor when he was a child, which made it difficult to live.

我的胃有点儿难受,可能我吃错东西了。Wǒ de wèi yǒudiǎn er nánshòu, kěnéng wǒ chī cuò dōngxīle.  – My stomach is a little bit uncomfortable. Maybe I ate something bad.

她被领导批评了, 所以很难过。Tā bèi lǐngdǎo pīpíngle, suǒyǐ hěn nánguò.  – She was criticized by her boss, so she felt sad.
